Frescobol Carioca x Paulo Mariotti launch limited capsule collection

New collection consisting of five pieces hand-illutrated by the Brazilian artist

As a business owner, expanding your market presence is important. The more people who are aware of your brand, the more likely they’ll put this at their forefront when making a purchasing decision.

Even more important is brand association and this is a reason why so many clothing manufacturers choose to associate themselves with a complementary brand. As an example, if a travel website has a certain number of followers, with those followers interested in the type of product you produce, it makes sense to launch a collaboration, which is one reason why Frescobol Carioca has partnered with Mr & Mrs Smith on a small capsule collection.

As Frescobol Carioca is a Brazilian brand at heart, it made sense for the brand to partner with a Brazillian artist and their latest collaboration is with Paolo Mariotti, which launched this week.

The collection consists of five pieces in two different styles. There are two traditional Frescobol printed t-shirts and both feature hand-drawn illustrations of the Ipanema and Arpoador beaches. The three shorts are in two styles. The two drawstring sports shorts display icons of surfers or a landscape of the Rio architecture. The single tailored short length swim short has illustrations of people on the famous Rio beach.

Asked why he decided to partner with Frescobol Caricoa, Paolo said “it was a perfect match. I presented a series of drawings I did over the years, about Rio and Brazil, drawings I did for myself. Eventually, the designer at Frescobol Carioca approached me, showed me the Carioca Post, and said that we needed to do something together.”

The colours within the capsule collection reflect the tonal hues of Rio’s famous blue mosaic tiles, reflecting day-to-day life within the city.

The Frescobol Carioca x Paolo Mariotti collection is available now. The Ipanema and Arpoador t-shirts retail at £75/$125, whilst the two Surfista and Predios Sports shorts are £145/$220. The single tailored Praia short leg short has a retail price of £160/$250.
