ashmei re-engineers the Hooded Sweatshirt for 2018. Can it get any better?

We’re lucky that we get to test drive quite a few activewear products here at Short Motivation and, we’ll be fair here, there are few we keep and train in ourselves. We can count on one hand the number of products we’d use on daily basis.

There are various reasons. Some products simply perform better in certain situations and we’d pick the most relevant activewear products to fulfil these criteria. We desire comfortable activewear products, which regulate sweat when you train hard, yet also keep you warm in the cooler months.

This is where we find the use of Merino covers a range of scenarios, with a unique ability to keep you warm in cooler weather, but quickly extracts the sweat from your body when training in warm weather. Merino also is incredibly soft, durable and keeps its shape even in the toughest of situations.

ashmei Hooded Sweatshirt

British brand ashmei takes Merino wool and mixes it with carbon, for the ultimate activewear material. Here at Short Motivation, we’re big fans of a number of the products, such as the Long Sleeve Baselayer and the Mono Hooded Sweatshirt, which has been re-engineered for 2018.

So, what’s new? Subtle but welcome improvements. A closer-fitting ninja hood makes it easier to keep on your head on a fast run into a headwind. The top has slightly improved athletic fit, making it ideal for layering. In addition, it now ships in four colourways,  including two brand new colours, teal and aubergine.

In addition to the hoody, ashmei has updated their 2-in-1 Shorts. These are the ideal shape and size for your run, with a 5″ inseam, lightweight 168g material, Merino wool terry-looped liner, zipped rear pocket with key compartment. The 2-in-1 Shorts ship in new blue colourway for 2018.

The Mono Hooded Sweatshirt is available now, in black, blue, aubergine and teal, retailing for £139. The 2-in-1 Shorts are also available now, in black or blue, with a retail price of £110.
