OGUY launches Deco capsule collection

Collection consists of seven new shorts with prints inspired by Miami Beach’s Art Deco District.

There are wide selection of shorts aimed at the beach, pool or on vacation, but it’s far more tricky to find a decent short for everyday wear around town. Luckily OGUY (Our Generations United Youth) has the answer. The idea was conceived during a vacation in 2015 between the founders Christopher Martinez and Lesly Lasa-Blandon. OGUY shorts combine New York boldness with Miami warmth and they’ve just launched their latest capsule collection, Deco.

Deco takes inspiration from from the architecture and design from the designer’s home town, Miami Beach, and the ideal that the construction and architecture inspire the patterns and overall fit whatever the body type of the customer. Here at Short Motivation, we have already worn previous collections such as the Palm Green Piped short and we can’t wait to get our hands on the Deco capsule.

OGUY refer to the fabric as luxe leisure – Ponte which is sourced from Italy and made and designed in the USA. Ponte is a double-knit fabric with a two-way stretch which moulds to the body-shape and holds you at the same time. OGUY state that “our philosophy the past few years has been to create shorts for every occasion- true transitional shorts that you can wear from day to night, from the beach party to the dinner party”.

The Deco Capsule video will offer a closer look at the styles.

The shorts are available in two styles: the Uptown and the Luxe Leisure and, as with the wider  OGUY collection, have a 7” inseam. There is also a Deco print which as you’d imagine from its inspiration the art Deco district in Miami is very bold. “This time, we wanted to push the boundaries on what it means to wear a print, and took it to the next level. It’s our very own skyscraper” said co-founder Martinez about the DECO print.

The shorts range from $150 to $170 for the unique print designs and are available now from the OGUY website and ship worldwide.
