Where we want to go

We want to visit Ibiza

The best beaches, great nightlife and places to relax. So, what's stopping you?

Ibiza has a reputation as one of the most popular party locations in the world. Known for having some of the best clubs and nightlife, countless people flock there during the summer season for endless parties.

But, is there more than meets the eye? Ibiza also plays host to some of the Mediterranean’s most incredible beaches, there’s good food, treks, lots of water activities and a number of top hotels. For the return of the Short Motivation, ‘we want to go to’ series, our next stop will be Ibiza!

We want to stay at Pure House and Ca Na Xica

Pure House is situated right in the heart of the island. Close enough to Ibiza town, while also being convenient for the top beach spot of Las Salinas, everyone should find something to do here. The small hotel is surrounded by pine forests and olive groves and sits on a huge 12-hectare site. In terms of the services and facilities, Pure House makes you feel right at home to include all the great amenities and then there is staff when you need them to look after you and to treat you to freshly made cocktails should you need them. You can also utilise the fitness session and wellness treatments they have available. All rooms follow the Mediterranean theme of white and ivory keeping in with a theme of relaxation.

Another place we’d like to stay at is the Ca Na Xica. Located in the middle of the Ibiza countryside, this really is a retreat for relaxation. Located at the north of the island and only minutes away from the beach of Benirràs, yet only 30 minutes from the airport, it’s ideal if you are seeking downtime on your Ibiza trip. There is plenty of space to lounge around the huge pool and an on-site spa for special treatments. The 20 rooms vary from double and superior, all white and neutrally coloured with well-filled minibars and Nespresso machines. Terraces from the room overlook olive and fig trees so you can really feel at one with nature.

We want to eat and drink at Meke Coffee Roasters and Plaisir

As you all know by now we are huge coffee fans, especially third wave. Meke is a small batch roaster with the aim of extracting the best coffee from their beans. They also offer barista training in order to make sure their beans are being served properly across the island. It’s worth noting that the opening hours are limited to Monday to Friday 9.30 to 1.30pm, so get there early if you want a great coffee.

Plaisir is another interesting option we’d like to explore. Serving great food and coffee, Plaisir also serves great breakfast which is always one of our favourite ways to start the day. Most of the produce is sourced from the owner’s farm so you know everything is completely fresh! Coupled with a light setting and some outdoor seating makes this a great place for grabbing a coffee and a light bite.

We want to work out at Cotton Fitness Club

This place is next level, as you’d in Ibiza. Cotton Fitness Club is a brand new concept situated on the beaches of San Antonio and is not your average gym. Although expect to find standard workout equipment and similar options, there is also a wellness centre with a pool and the entire location functions as a beach club so you can get a gruelling work out in at the gym which has great facilities, then grab your post workout food in from their Michelin-starred Peruvian chef! You can use the drop in day passes or pick up monthly membership if you’re staying for longer.

We want to hang around at El Chiringuito and find hire a catamaran from La Bella Verde

Ibiza is about the beach clubs and there’s few better than El Chiringuito located at the southern tip of the island, below the old town. This beach club is about getting away from the madding crowd. Good music, delicious food, a valet waiter service so you don’t need to leave your sunbed, makes this an essential visit. Open from 10am through 8pm (get there early for a sunbed), you can relax during the day and enjoy an evening meal before leaving.

Bored sitting on a beach all day? It’s easy to get itchy feet and we want to be out on the ocean. Further around the same peninsula, on the Salinas Beach, is La Bella Verde. You can find one of their catamaran’s for hire. Either join an existing trip or choose to hire an entire boat for the day. The choice is yours.
