Style up your workouts with the new Orlebar Brown x Bodyism 2017 collaboration

The fledgling partnership is set for big things on the gym and style scene.

In what may prove to be a gamechanger on the gym fashion scene, Orlebar Brown has announced a partnership with health and fitness specialists, Bodyism. The London-based firms have joined forces to deliver a 2017 collection of exclusive activewear.

Bodyism, a fitness method famous for creating lean bodies, was launched in 2006 by James Duigan. What started as a movement in the basement of a London home, Bodyism has progressed to become a fitness global-leader with retreats in London, Maldives, Capri and Turkey.

Orlebar Brown, launched in 2007 by Adam Brown, with the intention of launching shorts you can swim in, produces a range leisure and resort wear, with stores and retailers across the globe, including the United Kingdom, United States and Australia.

The Orlebar Brown x Bodyism range contains ten pieces of exquisitely tailored garments from T-shirts and sweatpants to shorts and jerseys – all of which will help you stand out from the ‘swooshes’ and ‘stripes’ at the gym.

Founder of Orlebar Brown, Adam Brown says “I have known Bodyism since they first started and James has been a great customer of OB for years. Our store in Notting Hill and Bodyism are neighbours and we are great friends”.

The collection is fused with refined materials such as merino wool and micro-waffle cotton, and comes together to create a line of gym wear that looks great on the street too.

James Duigan, the founder of Bodyism is excited about the partnership “’The Bodyism/OB collaboration is very exciting for men’s active wear—a brilliant fusion of high-function athletic performance with style and comfort.

Duigan continues “The fabrics used and the fit have been meticulously designed to make men not only look good, but also feel good. This partnership will redefine the space of men’s athletic fashion”.

Short Motivation managed to see and test-drive a preview of the collection before launch (look out for our shots in the range, across our social media). Our five standout pieces were:

Bellamy short

Bellamy. The go-to Short Motivation workout short. A flexible shower-proof, Bulldog-sized (mid-length) short which can be used equally for the gym, outdoor activity or at the beach. With a drawstring elasticated waistband, our advice would be to step up a size for increased flexibility.

The Bellamy will be available in black.

Duigan sweat top.

Duigan. Cotton/polyamide jacquard jersey, ideal for layering. This surprisingly stylish top, named after and worn by James in the promotional video, will keep you warm, especially post-workout, with a medium weight. We would advise you keep your regular size as the Duigan has a semi-fitted style.

The Duigan will be available in grey.

Hanlon t-shirt

Hanlon. A technical merino wool blend t-shirt, designed for warmth, making it ideal for your run or outdoor workout. Suitable for layering with a body-hugging fit, this t-shirt will keep you cool in Summer, warm in Winter, benefitting from the natural fibres found in wool.

The Hanlon will be available in grey or kingfisher,.

Leonardo long-sleeve T

Leonardo. This is a thin waffle-knit cotton micro stich long sleeve jersey, based on the Michael from the AW16 collection,  designed to be worn on its own or layered above the Hanlon t-shirt. Ideal for wearing inside the gym, on your run or as a leisurewear top. A regular fit, so aim for your normal size.

The Leonardo will be available in white and kingfisher.

Leary sweat jersey

Leary. Made with the same material as the Duigan sweater, the Leary is a  cotton/polyamide blend pique jacquard jersey with full body zip and hood.

The Leary will be available in grey.

The Orlebar Brown x Bodyism range will launch March 2017, and will be available through both brands websites, and selected Orlebar Brown stores.
