London’s latest hip hotel, The Curtain, opens May 15

Not satisfied on providing a simple hotel service, The Curtain offers a member’s club, co-working spaces and more

Bedrooms will have exposed brickwork, hardwood flooring and custom artwork

Opening May 15, London’s latest hip hotel could become the biggest rival to Shoreditch House, located only a few blocks from The Curtain. With 120 rooms, including expansive Loft Suites with huge sun terraces, the new hotel is located on Curtain Road, in the centre of Shoreditch, in the east end of London. For Short Motivation users unfamiliar with Shoreditch, it’s a cool, hip area of London full of the best bars, excellent hotels, great restaurants and boutique stores. Packed on an evening, but very quiet during the day, despite being walking distance from the City.

From the original owner of the Gansevoort Hotel group, The Curtain will have a subterranean member’s club with private garden, state-of-the-art gym from The Vault, a spa and various member-only hangout areas only available for people prepared to pay for the £900/year fee (some areas will be unavailable to hotel guests).

The rooftop will have a heated pool, conservatory, restaurant and bar area

Upstairs on the roof, there is a heated pool, LIDO restaurant and a plant-filled conservatory. The eagarly-anticipated Red Rooster restaurant, will be sister of the existing Harlem restaurant from chef Marcus Samuelsson. Expect to find over 6000sq feet of event space and a co-working location.

Hotelier and owner Michael Achenbaum said this about the opening “we spent almost 10 years seeking locations throughout London, with the last seven years specifically focused on the emerging East London area. It’s in our DNA to create hotels in neighbourhoods that are not only ahead of the curve but also in areas that are growing. The Curtain is that vision come to life in Europe.”

The Curtain hotel is accepting reservations from May 15. Rooms start from £200 for a a basic Courtyard room.
